What counts as a “Matrimonial Asset”?
- The following types of property count as matrimonial assets:
- The matrimonial home
- Property acquired during the marriage
- Property acquired before marriage which was:
- Ordinarily used by the family
- Substantially improved by both or other parties
- Gifts substantially improved by both or another party
- Property acquired before the marriage doesn’t otherwise constitute matrimonial assets
